I’ve been sick.

But my machine is here. I’ve been sick for a month which means I’ve been out of bed for about 6 hours a day. I’m not getting much done, but I do believe I’m starting to feel better. Machine’s here though, so that’s good news.

In other news, I’m going to be offering some of my early quilts for sale here at bargain basement prices. I have a ton of quilts just sitting around and not doing anything, so I figure I can slap a price tag on them and sell them. 90% of the people reading this blog can make their own quilts, but I figured it’d be worth a shot. I’m a little desperate for some income and maybe one day I’ll be famous and you can say you have one of my first quilts.

That’ll be happening some time this week but for now I’m going to crawl back into my bed where it’s dark and cold.

I miss my old camera. It took the best pictures! This one takes really good video, but I want nice pictures again 😦

I was planning to buy a new camera with my check from teaching the class but now most of that is going to my new computer (my computer crashed fyi) and my machine (the one that still isn’t…ah, nevermind, you know the drill.)

Anyway if anyone has any recommendations on a good digital camera, that’s  affordable, has a macro lens, optical stabilization internat battery and takes at least 8megapixel photos lemme know.

For now here’s a shot of my ironing surface which is no longer clean. :(!

As you can see I’m getting quite a bit done with my messing ironing surface.

It’s that time again. I’m keeping most of this quilt to myself (which is impossible because it’s seriously awesome) My mom (my ironer) even likes it and she’s usually not into my quilts.

FILE0213

Oh? See my fancy toile ironing surface? Yeah, it got a workout today…and it’s clean!

FILE0212

Things needed to make a quilt

1. Mom

2. Freezer paper

3. Elmer’s Glue

4. Diet Coke.

And in the background you can just barely see the beginnings of the new kid. He’s a boy, obviously because thems what boys make. He’s dark, moody, and a total loner. He also has 5,000 yards of gold silk thread waiting in a box for him.

Mmm. Earthy.

And done.

I had a lot of fun with this. No marking at all, which was just…oh, it was heavenly.

What I’ve been up to.

Besides still waiting for my machine? Yeah, that’s right, I’m still waiting.  They were supposed to call a week ago and didn’t, so I’m calling them on Monday morning. I’ve made three payments already. It’s a good thing I want this machine so much because if I didn’t I might be less patient…

Anyway, when my new machine does get here I’ll be filming a DVD. You read that right, a DVD. I was approached to film one a few months ago and I’ve been sort of kicking it around for a while and wondering if it was something I wanted to do. Turns out I wasn’t that interested in it, but then a few days ago, I decided to just go for it.

I’m not going to talk about it a lot because I’m still fine tuning what it’ll include, but it’s going to have a LOT on it and just to whet your appetite a little here are some pics

Janet-Lee Santeusanio emailed me this morning to let me know my quilt “Through Her Stormy Waters” will be featured in the September issue of The Quilter Magazine

It’ll be in stores mid to late July.

Oh, look, now uploads are working!

Neato. Thanks Suzanne!

It’s been a while.

I haven’t posted since the 6th? Really?

Hmm. Anyway, I don’t actually have much to post right now, but I did just get a call from Prodigy.

In two weeks I know when my machine will be arriving (finally) They initially said six weeks, which have come and gone but I understand the holdup since Charlie’s building me a rig for my camera and he’s been busy with the computerized system for the Prodigy. I can wait a little while longer. Neat. I so just had a dream about my machine coming, but it came in the mail and I had to install it myself (NO!)

And here’s a picture of a quilt I’m working on. I also have two show quilts in progress but those are top secret.

edit, or not. firefox keeps crashing when i try to upload a picture

I’m still waiting for my machine, but this is what I’m working on right now.

See, it’s a white wholecloth that matches my blue wholecloth.  But you’re saying “What? What’s going on with that what is it?”

file0154

Ah! There you go, it’s a minature wholecloth! How minature you ask? 14 inches!

Nice. This is just a sample to prove to myself I could do it, but I do want to make a real one once my new machine gets here

New quilt. I’m never going to get tired of making quilts with colors that are impossible to photograph. I started this quilt this morning at 9am and then worked all day. I’ve had a truly awful week and I needed something to take my mind off of…everything. Also I quite smoking Tuesday at 1am which means I’m 4 days in. Pretty good so far. Am I tempted to smoke? Yes. Am I eating everything in sight? Yes.

Am I saving more than enough money per month to pay for my Prodigy? HELL YES. Also my landlord REDUCED my rent. (crazy, right?) so that’s an extra 40$

I also finished filming my class and am now in the middle of exporting it to flash, which takes like 6 hours per ten minutes.  Phew. So, that’s what’s going on with me.
