I recently hit 100 posts, and I started my new quilt yesterday so I figured it’s time for an unconventional blog contest.

See, I’d totally send out a real prize, but…well, every time I see a contest people get like 400 comments and if you’re only reply to an blog to win something you don’t deserve a fabulous present. You need to love me all the time, not just when I’m offering something shiny.

In addition to that I don’t leave my house so I don’t ship stuff (yeah, I know I can do it from home, but it’s still too much work on my part)

Anyway, I’m going to show you two small pictures of my new quilt, it’s very bare at the moment and if you guess the predominant color then I will take suggestions on a video you’d like to see. (quilt related, don’t get any crazy ideas…I’m looking at you Corndog Cullen with your majestic eyes the color of…never mind)

So, to reiterate, you make a guess as to what the main color of this quilt will end up being and I’ll make you a video. If more than one person guesses correctly I’ll do some sort of drawing. Bonus points if you can make a very accurate guess like instead of yelling “Blue, now gimme, gimme, gimme!” You might say “Blue, sort of a slatey blue a little gray.”

Got it? Good, Guess away.

Now, this is my new quilt. I designed it all in Illustrator, every last bit of it. The pictures are so small because I want to keep the whole thing sort of a secret until it’s done. I just like little peeks now and then.

First post with my new camera. Youtube ruins EVERYTHING. I’m considering getting a paid account on vimeo, but it’s 60$ which I don’t really have. We’ll see though. I’m still on the fence about it.

This is a video I made a few weeks ago.  It was supposed to be for MQR but I couldn’t convert it to flash, so I’m just gonna post it here.

It’s on Vimeo because I can’t handle the compression on youtube anymore.

I changed my header and finally updated my blogroll/pretty posse

If you’re cool enough (or if you’re Kay) to be in my blogroll then you have a super awesome description when you hover over your link.  Yeah, YOU’RE WELCOME.

Hmm. I should add a picture.

I really miss my camera, so here’s some pictures of jewlery I made:

You didn’t know I used to make jewelry, did ya? Well, I did. That’s a story for another time though.

Aw, my camera died.

January 17, 2009

I ordered a new camera last night and my old one died today. We were in the middle of shooting a video and she punked out on me.  Farewell my friend.

It’s being replaced by a HD video camera though. It also takes 8mp still photos which is better than my current dead camera. I’m looking forward to playing with it and making HD videos available

Anywho, I’m still crystaling my heart out. I finished the green border today (and possibly the purple border haven’t decided yet.)

It seems luck is on my side because I ordered 5 gross of the 4mm peridot crystals and after putting one inside a pebble of each paisley i have only 5 left. That means my green border has 715 crystals all applied by hand and let me tell you…it’s  gorgeous.

Here’s one of the last pictures I took before my camera died, I’m glad it was a good one

January 15, 2009

The video is REALLY crappy in the beginning and I say something REALLY inappropriate towards the end, but this quilt is getting so pretty I don’t care about either of those two things.

My mom told me it was “too much” so i decided to add even more

January 14, 2009

This is taking forever + 1 day!

And it’s done!

January 10, 2009

Well, mostly done,  but it’s done enough for me to feel good about submitting it to MQX.

I still have to finish hand stiching down the binding, applying crystals to the back, and block it, but that’s not that much to do with a lot of time to do it. Yay.

Not bad if I do say so myself. My tension isn’t as great as it could be which isn’t my fault per se. The bottom border was REALLY full so it has some issues which should come out in blocking. All in all I’d call this a success.
